Dropbox Account Missing
I just went to sign into my Dropbox pro account, but it didn't recognize that I had an account. The only thing I could do was open a new account. I though that was weird but I figured if I signed up with the same email clearly it would recognize that I already have an account. Except it didn't, it started a new basic account. Now I have no access to any of my files and I have no idea what happened.
My only guess is that a few days ago I accepted access to another user's folder and maybe my account somehow was connected to theirs? The problem is now that my account is "new" and "basic" I don't have the same privileges in terms of talking to an actual person at Dropbox so I'm stuck trying to talk to Chatbot. This is extremely frustrating as I have a very timely project and I need access to these files.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Any help would be much appreciated.

Dropbox Staff
Hey mpollock84, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
It sounds like you were invited and joined a Dropbox Business team and then were removed from the team.
If you were prompted to create an account using your previous email address, it means that the team admin deleted you from the team and deleted your account in the process.
The fact that you now created a new account under this address, probably made things even more permanent, I'm afraid.
You could ask the admin that invited you, to see if they can restore you back to the team and then instead of deleting you, they'll need to convert your account to an individual one.
But if they can't see the option to restore you, I'm afraid there's not much else that can be done.
Let me know if you have any questions.
