my account is GONE
I've had a dropbox account for years. I was working in it earlier tonight. When I left for a bit and went to log back in, it is gone. Dropbox made a new account. All of my files are gone.

When was the last time you logged into your account prior to now?
Are you certain that here isn't another Dropbox account you own until a similar email address? Are you part of a Dropbox Business team by any chance?

I was in the account 1/7 afternoon and everything was as it should be. Took a break for a few hours, came back to do more work, and dropbox no longer recognized me (using the same email I have used for over a decade for this account) and created a whole new account. Everything is gone.

Hi pwhiteprock, is it possible that your old account was linked to a different email address?
Do you have any other linked devices, that you can use in order to check the email in question?
