Dropbox Dash | What you need to know
Thank you for testing the Dropbox Dash beta and for joining this group. Any feedback you can share with us will be valuable to us as we continue to work on this experience. Please note: Dropbox early releases are subject to additional terms and conditions. This post will outline some of the changes you can expect to see in this beta release and what we are hoping to test. What to expect from the Dropbox Dash beta experience The Dropbox Dash beta experience is currently available to users who choose to opt-in. Dash connects with all your work tools including: Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, Notion and many more. You’ll have instant access to all the info you need to do your best work. With Dash, one search bar is all it takes to find exactly what you’re looking for. You can use Dropbox Dash by downloading the beta here. Dash is available as a desktop app and as a web browser plugin. Testing Goals We are testing a number of different things as part of this beta experience, but there are three key areas we want to focus on: Search: How easily users are able to find their content through the Dash search functionality, and how well the search works across various apps. Stacks: We want to evaluate how stacks are working for users to organise their links and content, along with any changes that could be made to improve the experience. Dash Starting Page: Similar to stacks, we want to determine how the dash starting page is assisting users, and providing them with useful recommendations of what they are working on next. What’s next We truly appreciate you testing this beta, and if you have support questions or general feedback on how we can improve this experience, let us know by creating a topic here. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.13KViews4likes14CommentsUnable to find/install the app
I was unable to figure out how to get the latest windows app. I followed the steps in the tool to download it but it was only encouraging me to download the chrome extension, which I already have. Here is a loom of my issue.https://www.loom.com/share/dc775f3d5fbf4bacb7a0d1a24b8d7a4c?sid=17da5b11-a963-41e9-9d4c-d687c7c64fc9 I was able to find my original email inviting me to install the app and the link there still worked - but others may run into this.Solved11KViews0likes18CommentsIs adding multiple accounts of the same type (Gmail/Dropbox/Calendar) in Dash possible?
I can't find a way to add multiple Gmail or multiple Dropbox accounts in Dash. Once one account of a type is connected, the only option I see for this account family is disconnected. Is this expected? If so, is an improvement planned? One of the use cases helpful for me would be search across multiple accounts.Solved12KViews7likes14CommentsDropbox Dash login with Google creates credential conflict.
My dropbox account is not associated with a google account. Thus: I log into my google account, and Chrome. I add Dropbox Dash. It creates a new dropbox account using my Google account . I log out. There is no option to log in using my existing Dropbox account. There is no option to add an extra dropbox account. There is no option to add an extra Google account. So Dropbox Dash cannot access my dropbox files using Google Chrome as the browser. Is there a workaround? Cheers Gary886Views0likes3CommentsAny plans on adding Slack to Dash anytime soon?
Love Dropbox dash so far, however it's still very limited and I am wondering if there are any plans in the near future to integrate it with Slack? Slack is used in a lot of business processes and a lot of information is stored there. Thanks2.8KViews2likes0CommentsDash and apps (Google Calendar)
I would like to enjoy Google Calendar services in Dash (have all 3 Dashes installed ... W10 Desktop, MS Edge extension, Chrome Browser extension). While Calendar seems connected (see screen shot) I don't seem to realize any Dash services for it .... or much of anything else actually (One Drive, Box, etc etc). Don't know if it a stacks issue or what. Those apps and more are 'connected' but don't see any services for them at Dash Home. Obviously missing something. Thank you in advance for any help.Solved3.7KViews0likes6CommentsDash local files support
I really wanted to use Dash for local files support. And it totally disappeared. I would even further like it to be able to search also for Google Drive files as they appear on the local storage (even if they are online only). I really prefer to work with all files from local storage.4.4KViews2likes1CommentHas anyone used "Ask Dash" yet in Dropbox Dash?
I've been using the beta version of Dropbox Dash:https://blog.dropbox.com/topics/product/introducing-AI-powered-tools However, I do not have the "Ask Dash" feature enabled, currently it's just a simple keyword matching search engine over my filenames. Has anyone managed to get hold of this?Solved6.1KViews0likes4Comments
