This is a great idea, but it actually doesn't matter whether the folder is "offline". I need smartphone shortcuts that are deep links to *any* folder, even if not offline. This would solve Barrylsakson's use case but also many others.
I have 4 very different parts of my Dropbox that I frequently have to navigate to for different purposes. They are all pretty deep in the tree (and their locations make sense within those parts of the tree, so the solution isn't "move them higher"). And I am *frequently* downloading, uploading, & moving stuff in Dropbox on my smartphone. It is soul-killing to navigate over and over again each time I start the app. (Yes there are "starred" items but they are extra clicks/scrolls away, and the starred item list is an unsorted horizontal carousel, which is an awkward UI choice.)
