topic Folder-scoped API access tokens? in Dropbox API Support & Feedback

Our company uses Dropbox for all document storage, teams work together on documents in large folder structures. My team of developers is wanting to use an external service to sync these documents from Dropbox to another system so that we can process these documents.

We'd like to be able to issue tokens which are scoped to be able to read only from particular, pre-existing folders in the company dropbox. However, reading the App Permissions page seems to imply that an "App Folder" has to be a dedicated folder with a particular name, which doesn't match what we want.

Is it possible to issue access tokens for a specific, pre-existing folders?

No, unfortunately Dropbox does not offer the ability to grant an app/access token access to specific existing folder(s) only, but I'll pass this along as a feature request. I can't promise if or when that might be implemented though.
