topic Options for Dropbox Apps in Discuss Dropbox Developer & API

Hi,

We are looking forward to start developing with Dropbox API. But I just have a couple of questions regarding the ways an App can be deployed.

We have customers using Dropbox as an online platform and potentially also using Desktop app. but in short we would like to develop wither a Plugin, an App or a Module that they could install in their Dropbox instance and access directly there.

I assume the option of a Standalone App accessing Dropbox (via the API) is available but is there another alternative to have the App within the Dropbox environment?

Dropbox does not offer a way to develop an app to be embedded or plugged in to the official Dropbox client/environment.

The Dropbox API only allows you to build apps that can work with Dropbox by communicating with the Dropbox servers over HTTPS.
