Hi All, I'm hoping to get some clarity as to why I'm having so much trouble resolving a critical issue with our business account. I work at a very small law firm, and we had an employee who served as our HR/IT guy. So obviously, he'd be the one with admin permissions for our team's DB account. However, he was terminated and 2FA is still active on that account with his personal cell phone. He should have had another person designated as admin also, but unfortunately, he didn't. I've been tasked with most of his IT duties, including dealing with Dropbox. I really just need DB to deactivate his 2FA and/or to promote my own account to admin. Despite laying out the facts in two tickets (one is still open), I can't seem to get an answer from DB as to what hoops I need to jump through to make this happen. My team needs me to get some stuff done that I can only do once I have admin privileges. What should I do?

Get your employee to supply the 2FA code.

You may find you struggle otherwise - Dropbox have previously refused to remove 2FA from accounts once set up (although not sure on how that works for 2FA).

Unfortunately the only people who can help are those on the Dropbox support system.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately that employee was fired for cause about 2 months ago, so I'm not hopeful about getting his cooperation. Considering that we're paying over $4k per year on Dropbox, I thought that I'd have better luck with putting in a ticket and explaining the situation. Some of the team just wants to cancel Dropbox and go to another well-known competitor. It would be easiest if I could just fix Dropbox though.

HI @MLG2, I'd recommend continuing this with the support team directly, as they would be best placed to assist further, if possible in this instance.
