topic How to show a GIF thumbnail that is animated with the Dropbox JavaScript API? in Dropbox API Support & Feedback

So I have a folder full of GIF's. Each of them might be around 2~6 MB in size. They are too large to display in a gallery at once, so I'd like to load them as thumbnails. But the `dbx.filesGetThumbnail` doesn't work with animation it seems.

What is the way to load smaller versions of my GIFs that are still animated?

The Dropbox API doesn't offer animated thumbnails. We'll consider it a feature request.

That being the case, you'd need to download the original file and handle it as desired.
