No, the API doesn't offer the ability to filter to folders only, but I'll pass this along as a feature request.

Hi,

I am using dropbox V2 rest apis for my application. I have an usecase to be resolved. There is an api to list all the files and folders within the given folder path. Is there a way to retrieve only the folders within the given folder path? I know that we can differentiate the folders and files using the ".tag" key value. Is there any filter that can be directly applied to get the folders alone? Please advise on this. Thanks in advance.

ability to report / list the folder structure's across our shared dropbox environment is sadly missing, it will take someone days to manually document our current shared structure - any plans to get this in place would be hugely relevant to companies adopting dropbox across their teams

thanks

Thanks for the feedback! I don't have an update on this feature request, but I'll be sure to add your message to it.

Just to be clear though, while the Dropbox API doesn't offer a way to filter to folders on the server, but you can still programmatically list everything and apply that filtering client-side. To do so, you would use /2/files/list_folder[/continue] with recursive=true, and filter down to folder entries only:

https://www.dropbox.com/developers/documentation/http/documentation#files-list_folder

https://www.dropbox.com/developers/documentation/http/documentation#files-list_folder-continue
