Every API call for uploading or downloading to/from a Dropbox account requires an access token for that account. You can easily generate an access token for your own account, but to get them for other users of your app, you'll need to send them through the OAuth app authorization flow.

We have an OAuth guide here that should be helpful:

https://www.dropbox.com/developers/reference/oauth-guide

If you're using the official Dropbox Python SDK, there are helpers to process this here:

https://dropbox-sdk-python.readthedocs.io/en/master/moduledoc.html#dropbox.oauth.DropboxOAuth2Flow
