topic Is moving the the "Apps" folder a problem? in Integrations

I'm referring to the automatically created "Apps" folder that contains folders of linked / connected mobile apps (those with a puzzle piece on their folder icons).

The folder was created in the root directory which I didn't like.
I want to remove it within my personal folder structure to something like ... Private/Computer stuff/Back-Ups/Apps/<app folders names>
I relocated the folder already, and it seems to work - the app that I connected to my Dropbox (it can only access its own files within the apps folder) does continue to sync without problems across different devices.

I hope that relocating the folder doesn't cause any issues, maybe in the future or with other apps?

Yes, it will break all connected apps, or, cause them to auto re-create it.

Unfortunately you have no way to change this.

If you are using a computer with Dropbox on my workaround is to selective sync it off the device so I dont see it

Hi Mark,

that ist very interesting. Currently, I have only one application connected that uses the app folder. It's called Diarium, a diary journaling app for all platforms. I have moved the Apps folder as described above, to a deeper directory using Dropbox web interface. Since I expected for this to cause issues I then tested the sync function across multiple devices and was surprised that it "just worked". It seems the app does not require the original path, that is in the root directory.. it automatically "knows", or adjusted to the new directory. It did not create a new Apps folder in root directory neither.

So, at least in this case, it does not seem to break the app or create a new Apps folder.

But I can imagine that a newly connected app would re-create the Apps folder in root..

I think until then I will just assume that it will continue to work. Hopefully.

Thank you for the suggestion to just exclude it from sync on desktop! If the folder should appear in root I would go the same route.
