I was working on a document in Microsoft Word that is saved to my dropbox and the application shut down. I am not unable to find a copy of this document with the work I was doing on it i.e., auto recovery. Where am I able to find this for dropbox?

I have checked my deleted files on dropbox and there is nothing there?

Thanks in advance

Dropbox doesnt have an autorecovery tool as such - because that is something the program itself has to do. Dropbox would only allow you to recover a previous version of the file if it actually ever saved in the first place. Unfortunately if it hasnt saved, as in you cannot see it online then there is no recovery available.

www.dropbox.com/events will show you where the files etc. are and what happened to your account during the time of the work you did.

Thanks Mark,

It looks like it didn't save but good to be sure whilst starting again.

Do you or anyone else have any recommendations on how to do a kind of 'autosave equivalent in dropbox?

That's not something Dropbox does, or is capable of doing. It's up to the application you're using to do that. Word has it's own auto-save, as well as a recovery feature for files that aren't saved when Word unexpectedly closes.
