I have a new Macbook Air M3. I am new to mac. I have DB for Business. I have DB on macOS on File Provider.

I opened an excel file in a shared folder and a system prompt came up asking me if I want to lock the file. I chose no and also selected the box to not show this prompt again. Well I want to show it again.

I read I can reset the File System Warning options by going into the DB settings, then account, and press the option key. I need to hold option and see the box to "Reset File System Warning options". If I let go of option key it disappears. so while holding the option key I click on it and it looks to press (changes color) but there is no prompt like apply.

I restarted the computer and i still do not get the prompt. Any idea?

thanks

Hi there, @Rinconman, thanks for your post.

Was the prompt to lock the file Dropbox related or macOS related?

Because the file might have been in the Dropbox folder, but the Dropbox folder is just like any other folder on your computer, just with syncing abilities.

Have you tried to do this through your OS instead?

Keep me posted.

@Rinconman, after restarting your device, did you follow the same steps again, and there’s no Apply button showing still? Are you seeing any other options perhaps?

Thanks for the additional info, @Rinconman.

I'd like you to try something; as a test, try to move a file out of your Dropbox folder, to see if all file system warnings have been affected or just the file locking one.

If you try to move a file out of Dropbox, you should get a pop-up warning you that the file will be deleted, so let me know what you find.

I do get the system warning that it will be deleted from all devices when trying to move out of DB. I did not check that one to no longer show it so it shows every time. I do not get the locking message.

That accessibility is on. It was needed for badge to work (go that message on install). The issue I am reporting is not related to that. The issue is resetting the default system warning so it asks if I want to lock a file on opening. First time I chose not to unlock and do not show warning again. How do I reset the system warning?
