      <title>Issue with the Dropbox application v52 (freezing/ crashing) on Mac devices.</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Recently I noticed Dropbox.app is not running on my MacBook&amp;nbsp;Pro (El Capitan).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;When I run following command on a terminal,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&lt;SPAN class="s1"&gt;$ /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;many messages are listed, and after a while, it stops as follows.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;..... dropbox: thread d0eb58 is not a python thread&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Segmentation fault: 11&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The version is the latest version which I downloaded from the site today.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Desktop app crashes on mac 10.11.6 after upgrading</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Today my Dropbox has updaded to the latest version ( 52.4.58 ) and immediately stopped working. It simply crashes a few second after launching.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was able to install some previous builds ( 51.4.66 &amp;amp; 50.4.71 ) and they worked, but after a small amount of time they autoupdate themself and crash.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The latest beta version ( 53.3.64 ) also crashes on start.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If there any way to prevent the app from updating (I didn't find any working solutions for that) ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here is a screeenshot of the crashed thread&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="Screen Shot 2018-06-21 at 11.37.07.png" style="width: 999px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/3685iF188043330CD2A9F/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="Screen Shot 2018-06-21 at 11.37.07.png" alt="Screen Shot 2018-06-21 at 11.37.07.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I was able to install the previous version ( 51.4.66 ) by doing the following:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) Download the previous offline installer&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Turn off the Internet connection&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) Install it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4) Navigate to yout Application folder, right click on the DropBox.app and select Show Package Contents.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5) Then go to Contents/Resources/ and select&amp;nbsp;DropboxMacUpdate.app&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;6) R&lt;SPAN&gt;ight click on the it and select Show Package Contents&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;7) Go to Contents/MacOS and delete the file inside that folder.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Now turn on the Internet connection and you are done. You have the previously working version and it can't update itself.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;This is definately a DropBox bug and it appered today on two El Capitan machines. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;So please, someone resend it to the DropBox QA team.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Ever since June 2018 my Mac (OS X 10.10.5) stopped syncing with my dropbox folder on my desktop. &amp;nbsp;I have unistalled it with Clean my Mac, and then download and reinstalled it, it now appears in my Apps folder (201MB) but when I double click on it to open, nothing happens.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also lost the icon on my Finder top menu where it used to be. So I cant open the app to access the settings for the app and log in, etc.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BTW a grayed out dropdown menu appears on any finder window, but says no options available?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have an identical problem.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Running MacOS X 10.10.5 Yosemite on a MacBook Pro Early-2011 still in top shape.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I've been a happy Dropbox user since at least 8 years. Then suddenly it stopped working.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I tried &lt;a href="https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/330248"&gt;@Jay&lt;/a&gt;'s solution and did a clean advanced reinstall of the desktop app.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Twice.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Every time, double clicking on the installer makes the Dropbox icon appear in the top menu bar, but it's greyed out and stays there for a few seconds before disappearing completely.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

I did it before exactly, and there was no change.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here are some screenshots that should help.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Well, I realized somwthing didn't work find because I uploaded a pdf file from my iPhone and the file was not visible in my Dropbox folder on the Mac (running MacOS 10.11.6). Then I saw that the Dropbox icon in the menu bar was not visible. I run my Dropbox App but nothing happened. Thus I restarted my Mac and I downloaded the Dropbox offline installer. It seemd that the probelm was solved since the Dropbox icon appeared in the menu bar and a notification about the app update was visible. Anyway, just after less than one minute the Dropbox app crashed (the icon disappeared in the menu bar).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then I googled on the web and I found this discussion. I tried again downloading the installer but I had to restart the machine since a strange message like "the image is damaged" comes out everytime after the installation.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I have OS X 10.9.3 on a mac mini and the Dropbox client worked well until the latest update to 52.4.58 was installed yesterday automatically.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I delete the 52.4.58 client and install the older 50.4.71 version (this is the version I have found somewhere else), the client starts correct but updates itself to 52.4.58 which causes segmentation fault when restarted.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;22.06.18 16:04:54,435 Dropbox[6693]: ApplePersistence=NO
