Hi @sl13, thanks for contacting us!

The first option will keep any files currently on the invited account separate from the Dropbox Business team, since they will be moved to a new Dropbox account under a different email you own. The second merges your data to the team, so any personal files will be owned by the team admin.

It would be best to remove the work email as your secondary email, prior to joining the team. Just to be certain, the email address itself doesn't have a Dropbox account of its own?

This will help me to assist further!

I would like to find out if I accept an invitation to join a team account for a new job/company I have accepted, how will I ensure my personal dropbox files remain personal? When I go to accept the invitation I get a screen asking 'how shall we handle your account? Can someone please explain the options below in simple terms?

First option is keep it separate (you need to create a second dropbox account to keep work and personal files separate.

Second option is combine with Team Account (your emailxxx@gmail.com fileswill be in a private folder that only you and your admin can access.

Thank you and apologies if these are simple questions!

I also gave the new company I work for my email address which is a work one and is a secondary email on my account. not sure if this has any implications and will they see my personal gmail email on the settings for me? Where if anywhere in the user interface would they see my personal gmail?
