Hey there (@Sewgirly), thanks for taking the time to drop us a line on our Community!

I’ve moved your post under this discussion, just so as to ping you to @gregoc’s reply to the OP above, as you can easily view your connected devices on your Account Security tab. I hope that this is helpful to you & do let us know if you have more questions or thoughts!

When I check to see what computers are linked to my dropbox, the computer names are very vague, like L-pc. where do I see what my current computer is called according to dropbox? I know its not the PC name according to what windows calls it, but can't find where it named on the dropbox app or settings

@Ringo42 Dropbox pulls the actual computer name from System (probably different than what you think it is called). You can find the Windows computer using these instructions:

Hey @alpa, you should be able to view & manage your connected devices on your Account Security tab, however I’ve also moved your post under this discussion that will probably address your additional inquiries. If you have any follow-up questions or thoughts, please feel free to ping me here & we’ll touch-base with you soon. Thanks!

Deleting old login entries after getting device limit error message.

Collaborator | Level 8

After having reset my phone, i tried loggin into dropbox. Getting what would best be described as an error message saying i can only have 3 devices, even tho i only have 1 phone. It asks me to delete old entries and it wants me to delete 97. Logging in from pc i quickly discover i can only delete 1 entry at the time.

I have dropbox installed on 3 pc's, linux vm & phone. I have only gotten the message on my phone so i am assuming the limit is mobile devices. But i am really not bothered deleting 97 ancient entries one-by-one manually.

Solutions?

Hey @nicolaj, while it would be worth noting that Basic users have a three device limit now, I believe that the answer you’re looking for is located under this discussion. Please do let me know if you have any additional inquiries. Thanks!

It's total devices; not just mobile. Any devices beyond three that are already linked to your account will remain, but if you try to add another you'll receive the message. As you have 4 devices active, you'll need to remove two of those (plus the other 90+ that your account is showing, before you'll be able to add another (bringing you to the limit of 3).

There is no way to remove devices en masse.
