100% disk use, Windows 10

100% disk use, Windows 10

Dropbox has been running my hdd at 100% making it impossible to work, I have to keep quitting the desktop app or I'd never get any work done.

Is it me or has this app become incredibly bloated and a liability?

Hello there @Coinslot, thanks for posting on our Community today!

I'm sorry to hear about this and I'll be happy to help look into it.

To do so, can you please tell me the app's exact version as shown in the app's preferences

Also, have you rebooted your computer recently?

Any additional information is more than welcome!

Dropbox version is the newest on your website 129.3.2513. I've uninstalled and reinstalled today, my pc is currently syncing files (smart sync). Yes, I have rebooted.

100% disc use again.

It seems that you're running a beta version of the app @Coinslot

Could you turn off the 'early releases' from your account's settings and then install the latest, stable version through this page?

My previous install was a stable release, the one I've downloaded today is the beta and neither seem to address the 100% disk issue.

If you install the latest, stable version and still notice high CPU usage, let me know and I'll send you an email to investigate further @Coinslot.

Thanks!

Does this happen with any other apps, like anti virus or windows 10 updates. I've ran into disk issues on older laptops that have a HDD instead of a SSD. It just seems that windows 10 doesn't work well on hard drives no matter what programs are run.
