Can I use Dropbox as a file repository for my website?

Can I use Dropbox as a file repository for my website?

I have a website hosted by GoDaddy which has a ton of video (large) files (I have very few users - just family members, of course).  GoDaddy is now recommending that I move these files to a file storage repository; that is, off their web servers.  Does anyone know if I could use my Dropbox account for this?  If possible, have you done this - any tips?  (I apologize for my ignorance on this website design!)

Thanks,

-Dan-

While you can do it using a shared link and modifying it to render or force a download, that's not the intent of Dropbox and you'll likely run into bandwidth issues if you're trying to serve a lot of large video out of your account. Dropbox is not meant as a web host (or a streamer). You'll be better off using a service meant for that purpose.

Thanks for your reply!  Can you suggest a couple services that I can investigate?  Obviously, I'm kinda ignorant in this area.  Thanks.
