Hello,

I'm having serious problems reinstalling Dropbox to get myself out of the beta testing. I've managed to reinstall a stable version but now the app refuses to open/start. Please, help. I've copy-pasted the error message below. Thanks so much in advance. I use a Macbook Pro. 😕

HI @ZACKMASKELL, I'm happy to hear you were able to resolve the issue.

For the benefit of other users with similar issues, could you share the method you used, or a link to the helpful article itself?

Hello.

I recently deleted Dropbox and when I try to reinstall the application I get the following error:
dropbox.mac.internal.MacError: [Errno -2001] Error Domain=NSFileProviderErrorDomain Code=-2001.

Could someone please help me?

Thanks!

Hi @cfb1, I hope you're doing well!

Is this the full error log you're receiving on your end? If not, could you reply back with the entire error log you see, when you click the blue hyperlink within the message pop-up?

If I were you, I'd also try an advanced re-install, in order to remedy this.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Thanks @Megan.

I've tried your suggestion and reset privacy settings and now it works!

Thanks a lot!, it worked for. Just for others that may not want to see the video, for me what worked was:

Open Terminal.app

Write the command "tccutil reset All" (without the double quotes) and press enter

It may reset other applications, in may case Dropbox, Office and others stopped working so it may be better to reset everything
