Dropbox Backup not working on Multiple Mac's

We have been trialing Dropbox Business Advanced to allow our creatives to backup their work.


Each creative has a Mac and a portable USB hard drive.

 

Despite our best efforts, this just refuses to work properly - and is hanging on the initial backup seed.

 

This is occurring on multiple Mac's including an M1 device and intel

 

We have downloaded a specific dropbox version as directed by support - but still the same issue.

An example is a backup of 294.67GB, got to 1% complete (~3.96GB) and then progressed no further. This was only two files off the drive

 

Anyone have any experience with this sort of problem ?

Hey @gary1987, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

 

Can you let us know a bit more about the version and the sync status of the Dropbox app?

 

You can hover over the Dropbox icon in the menu bar to see that.

 

Also, are you having this issue with both backing up the internal drives and the portable ones you mentioned?

 

Any additional info you can think of, would be really helpful.

Hi,

I am having the same problem since a month ago. The files of my external drive are not uploaded to the dropbox backup. In the bar it appears as it is almost completed (97%) but it has only upload 1GB aprox. I have tried to contact with support many times and have reinstalled Dropbox several times, also updated my OS. But still, it seems that it doesn´t work correctly... I just don´t know what else I can do 😞

If you hover over the Dropbox icon, what's the sync status of the Dropbox app?

 

How much content does your external drive have?
