Dropbox Web Helper high CPU usage on M1 Mac

Dropbox Web Helper high CPU usage on M1 Mac

M1 Mac running Monterey 12.1 is showing 80% CPU usage of Dropbox Web Helper from time to time. Why such high CPU usage?

How can I get the beta version of Apple silicone native app?

Hey @Monstergerm, I hope you're doing well!

Have you taken a look at this Help Center article?

Keep in mind that the Beta version of the Dropbox app could be contributing to high CPU usage and not ease the issue.

What is the current version you're using?

Feel free to hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon near your WiFi, and let me know.

Thank you very much!

I am using v139.4.4896 on macOS 12.1

There are no apparent sync issues, no symlincs, no other issues reported. Dropbox Web Helper is most of the time not using much CPU at all but sometimes it seems to be stuck for a few hours at 80%. I did a fresh install of Dropbox but this did not help.

Hey @Monstergerm, sorry to hear that reinstalling the app didn't improve matters for you.

Could you try an advanced reinstall too and let us know how it goes?

If the issue persists, we'll send you an email to investigate further.
