Whatever the truth of the matter (and I remain dubious), some of us are unwilling to provide our password in response to this request.  We would appreciate it if the dropbox app would accept our choice in that respect, and stop asking for the password.  Please.

Yeah looks like Rich is missing the point. While your OS may be asking for authentication approval, it's DROPBOX that initiated the request for  your computer to ask for the approval. Got that? Sounds pretty simple to me and no... NEVER EVER give away your computer password, people. That is unless you don't mind being scammed by Dropbox or any hacker pretending to be Dropbox or anyone stealing info collected by Dropbox etc. etc. YMMV  ðŸ™‚

Agree with Emai Mike I. - Rich R. has never been more wrong.

Nobody - I repeat - NOBODY gets the password to my computer. For any reason whatsoever. Ever. Period.

Looks like OP was correct: it was the DropBox app asking for the password, not the computer. And they are likely storing the password too!

It isn't, but let's keep the conspiracy theories in one place please.
