I want to be able to sign out of Dropbox on my laptop so if someone borrows it, Dropbox cannot be opened. How do I do this?
Unfortunately Dropbox does not have this feature. If you are worried about someone accessing your Dropbox account while using your computer, perhaps you could have them use a separate user account.
Thanks Nathan. That's what i have been doing. Any suggestions about securing it on an iPad?
In the Dropbox app on your iPad, go to the settings tab and then enable a passcode.
Thanks for that information, Nathan. Solves my problem.

Another user account on your computer. Log out of your computer user account and have them log in to their own.
that's the problem --I cannot see where or how do I log out of the dropbox acct that opens when I click on the dropbox icon on my computer
Thanks in advance for your help.

You cannot log out.
You need to unlink the account - which stops syncing completely.
