Settings and Preferences
The Dropbox Community is here to help if you have questions about your account settings and preferences. Learn and share advice with members.
I have OS 10.10.5 on my Mac. The icon for dropbox is no longer on the menu bar. I would like to totally remove dropbox from this computer. How can I do it? It is still showing in my favorites. In applications the icon has a line through it and I can't open to get to settings.
Hey @nmeeks, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
If you'd like to remove the Dropbox application from your computer, you can go to your account settings and delete the computer in question from your connected devices.
This should unlink the computer from your account, so you can move the Dropbox app to trash, while your files remain safely stored in your account.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you. I found it and it was no longer linked anyway. I have removed dropbox to the trash.
No worries, @nmeeks1, happy to help!
