I accidentally turned on the dropbox password storage app.

Sorry to trouble you, but I recently discovered that dropbox was saving every one of my passwords for ALL my online accounts without my permission.

Could you please tell me how I can turn this off permanently?

Thanks!

Ivan

P.S. it`s happening on both my email accounts:

Hi @ivansc, how are you today?

As mentioned in this Help Center article: Dropbox Passwords is a browser extension and mobile app by Dropbox.

So, you would need to avoid the browser extension or app, if you wish to not use them.

I hope that clarifies.

Hi @ivansc

I've removed your emails as its dangerous to post them to a public forum - thats how you get spam and hacking attempts.

Dropbox does not set Passwords up on an account unless told to do so. You can disable it by just deleting the passwords and the extensions. You cannot, however, delete Passwords as such: https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/dropbox-passwords-faq#delete

Hello and thanks for the advice. My biggest worry now is that I may accidenally turn the passwords app on again in future, so exsactly HOW would I have done that? I`ve searched everywhere I can think of  & not found an "no/off" button! 😄

regards, Ivan
