Is my Dropbox App installed correctly?

Is my Dropbox App installed correctly?

I got a new computer.

Best Buy installed various apps for me, including the Dropbox App.  However, when I click on the icon, nothing happens.  Nothing.  Well, the little circle tells me that Windows 11 is working, but then it goes away without any result.

So should I re-install the app?  Was in improperly installed?  Or is there some magic command I'm not aware of, and which the (rarely helpful) FAQ's and Help articles don't cover?

Does anyone else recognize this phenomenon?

Welcome back to the forum, @marksaul!

Can you send me a screenshot of the little circle that you mention in your post?

Also, if you hover over the small Dropbox icon in your system tray, what’s the exact syncing status and app version you see?

Keep me updated.

Thank you for your reply!  The 'little circle' is just the generic blue circle that shows that Windows is at work.  It appears, then vanishes.

When I hover over the Dropbox Icon, all I get is the name of the icon ('Dropbox')

Hey @marksaul, sorry to jump in here, but could you send us a screenshot of what you see so that we advise further?

If you're not sure if the desktop app is normally installed on your computer, you can download and install it from this page

Keep us posted!

I thank everyone for their responses.  Two Dropbox chat help folks got everything up and running.

I wasn't aware of the TWO icons that the Dropbox app generates: large blue one that takes me to my Dropbox home page, and small black one, more powerful, that actually controls things.  They straightened me out.

To resolve my original question: I'm not sure whether the app was originally installed.  I had only the blue icon, not the black one.  But I took my life into my hands and re-downloaded it from the Microsoft store.  Then, when the chat staff were helping me, we ascertained that all was in working order.

I could not take a screenshot of the original phenomenon, as some people requested.  I had only the blue icon, and when I click on it, Windows 11 is busy doing something (and could not also take a screenshot), then busy doing nothing.  That's all fixed.  Many thanks.
