Hi,

 

I recently purchased HP laptop. As part of promotional offer i was eligible to get 100 gb free cloud storage.

 

While activating Drop box account i had given incorrect email id by mistake. (missed 2 letters in the email id)

To my surprise, the account got created eventhough the email id provided was not correct.

 

Once i realized that the email address is incorrect, i signed out of drop box and tried to create new account with correct email id

But this time it shows only basic plan. I can't login with the wrong email address as i can't verify the email.

Is there  a possibility to get my 100 gb free storage offer by any chance? I can share my laptop purchase invoice if required.

Hi @Asma786, thanks for posting here! 

 

It sounds like your HP promotion, might have been redeemed on the newly-created Dropbox account, that you have no access to. 

 

Is there no way to create that wrong email address, in order to access the account, and check?

Hi Megan,

 

No i cannot login with that wrong email address anymore. When i try to do so, it is asking for security code.

 

I believe that the email address is valid but it is not mine.

 

Is it possible to deactivate the promotion from the incorrect email address and re activate with the correct email address?

 

Wrong email address which i used to create drop box account: [removed per Community Guidelines]

Correct email address where i want the promotion to be activated: [...]

Hi from me as well, Asma. 

 

Please keep in mind that, in general, Dropbox doesn’t enforce email verification when an account is created and, unfortunately, it’s not possible to transfer the promotional space from one Dropbox account to another, once it’s been redeemed.
