Issue with the "Open With" button

Issue with the "Open With" button

Hey, I am currently on Windows 11 using the dropbox app
When right clicking within dropbox folders in file explorer, the "Open With" button is not doing anything when pressed
This also occurs when pressing "more options" then trying to open with different program
This issue does not occur outside the dropbox folders, PDF files taken outside of dropbox folders and placed on the desktop function as expected

I have performed all the windows updates, sfc scannow and chkdsk and I have also reinstalled the latest version of dropbox with no success
I've also tried the "Open with" on locally saved and cloud saved documents.
This issue is not entirely consistent and sometimes works as expected.
Any help would be appreciated.
If this is more of a Windows issue rather than dropbox, let me know.

Hi @JJamess, thanks for bringing this to our attention.


Could you try quitting the Dropbox desktop application entirely to see if the options when right clicking return in the 'Open with' category?
