I'm having this same problem loading dropbox folder from Windows Explorer or saving there from my primary web browser (Opera). Have tried a reinstall of DB client and other fixes like moving / renaming the db folder or only synching essential files, but it still hangs.

lawiseman, can you try installing the latest stable version from here: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Desktop-client-builds/Stable-Build-18-4-32/m-p/202761#M3630?

That was the same version I had installed according to the standard installer. I chose the offline installer instead and it seems to work like a charm. Thanks!
