My files are missing from both Dropbox and PC!!! Help! I didn't delete any files

I tried the basic dropbox and it immediately took all my files, which I didn't want to do, but it didn't give me a choice or chance.  Now a bunch of my important files are completely GONE FROM BOTH COMPUTER AND DROPBOX!!  I want to cancel my dropbox and get my files back on my computer where they were.  This is awful!!  Where are my files?  I didn't delete any of them.  I tried to move them but it says I'm out of space and want me to buy more...no way!

If I cancel my dropbox, where do my files that are in there go?  I don't want them in dropbox , just back on my computer.  I can't afford to lose them, but some are gone already.

Hey @zazoo, thanks for posting and sorry to see you're having trouble with your files.

It sounds like you enabled our backup feature, when you installed the Dropbox application on your computer.

Are you able to see a "PC" folder inside your Dropbox folder, and do you see any files there?

How about the recycle bin on your computer?
