I have lost the option to open a file in dropbox from other apps using “share” then pressing the dropbox logo and then there were two options “share with app” and “open in app”. I have lost this one which was very helpful

Hi @Waflar, let's look into this!

Out of curiosity, what is the Dropbox version that you're using on your iPhone? Also, have you noticed this behavior on all of your apps?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

The version is 296.4.2

I can't say if it happens to other apps as I only use this function with Dropbox

Hi @Waflar, which apps does this happen with?

Can you also send me a few screenshots of what you see now, when you try to open files in Dropbox, from a different app?

I notice the “Open in App” option is also missing in Instagram.

Hey @Osterw, thanks for your comment here.

Do you have the most recent version of the Dropbox app installed on your device?

Can you also guide us through the steps you're following in order to do this on Instagram?

And are you missing other options or just Dropbox?

It doesn’t work the way it used to, as “open in… dropbox” would allow you to do a search of the folder where you want go save your file. But that is not possible anymore.

I don't think it's been Open in Dropbox for a while now. For me I just tap on Save to Dropbox and I can browse for a folder in my Dropbox to save to.

Though I usually just use Save to Files, then I can select Dropbox or any other service I have, all in one app.

Correct. But doing it your way does not allow to do a search of a folder where you want to save your file. For example, you are saving a family picture and you want to save it in a subfolder following a route like dropbox/pictures/family/triptouk…
Before, I could do a search of the folder “triptouk” and then save the file there. Now I can only navigate until I find my folder… and I have a couple thousand folders. Do you now see my point?
