Removing Dropbox Icon from the Taskbar

Anyone ever find a work around for removing the Dropbox icon from the Mac Taskbar and still have your files sync?  It is insane that after 4 years of complaints, they are still making it where one can not hide the icon.

I'm afraid that there's no way to remove the Dropbox icon from your menu/task bar and still have the app running and syncing.
