I just changed the settings to allow all documents and desktop items to upload into Dropbox. Unfortunately something went sideways. Dropbox created a folder called Reunion Files but it is empty. I did not expect the upload to affect the app. What has happened and how can it be fixed?
Hi @Reunion, let's look into this!
It sounds like you might have enabled our Backup feature, however what's throwing me a bit off is the "Reunion files" folder. Can you let me know more?
Do you think you can give me some more info, in regards to the steps you took, and what exactly happened with the app, please?
Let me know!

Reunion is an app that I keep for genealogy trees. When I upgraded Dropbox, I thought it meant the program was adding enhancements - similar to regular upgrades I get from Apple for my various devices. I had been keeping most of my documents off Dropbox - keeping only the ones I would use on my MacBook when away.
After the 'upgrade', I noticed that ALL (or almost all) of my documents had been moved over to Dropbox, which was not my intent.
As well, Dropbox added a folder called "Reunion files" under Documents. There is nothing in the folder. When I try to open a tree in the Reunion app - it will not open. When I click on the app icon, then right click on a named tree, nothing happens. I cannot open it; I cannot drag it to the desktop. A screen will open up asking if I want to create a new tree. No. I want the trees I have already created.
Also: Is there a way I can go back to the old Dropbox to get me out of this mess?
Hey @Reunion, how are you?
Have you tried to disable the backup feature, so your desktop folders are no longer backed up to Dropbox, to see if that helps?

Soo ... I disabled the backup feature as you suggested. Now thousands of documents that were on my hard drive are GONE!!!! 20 years of documentation. What the ...
How can I speak to a real person at DropBox to walk me back and hopefully recover all of my documents.
Hi @Reunion, hope it’s alright to jump in.
