Starting up tray app takes "forever" without feedback messages on what is going on

My Dropbox tray app on Windows 11 all of a sudden went into "startup..." mode and it just hangs there without any status notification what so ever on what's going on. When I look in process explorer all Dropbox process are at 0% CPU so not very active. Seems like it hung to me. Before this state I had problems with that it would not sync my new local files to the cloud storage.

Personally, I think Dropbox programmers need to improve in giving status messages on what is going on. Too often, things just takes a lot of time without any feedback given in the app if it has hung or not. It's a real drag and a showstopper for work.

Hey @TobiasBari, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community and happy Friday!

We really appreciate your feedback about our desktop application. I will make sure your comments are passed along to our team.

As for the issue you're having, do you mean that the sync status of the application is stuck on 'Starting...', when you hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon in your system tray?

If so, is it possible that you have more than 300K files in your Dropbox folder at the moment?

If that's the case, can you use selective sync, to reduce the number of files, to see if that helps?

Keep me posted.
