Sync Icons Have Disappeared

Sync Icons Have Disappeared

I am running Mac OS 13.6, Ventura. Dropbox integration was working fine, but today all of the sync icons have disappeared. Dropbox indicated that all files are up to date. I can right clock a file and see all of the Dropbox Actions. I have restarted and reinstalled Dropbox but that didn't help. I have read through the various other threads on this but can't find a solution. Any help appreciated.

Hi @kdeemer1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do you have any other cloud services running on your machine.

Could you try temporarily quitting them to see if this helps?

This will help me to assist further!

Yes! I had Google Drive running and, after quitting it, the icons reappeared. So, what is the solution?

There is a limit on the number of icons an OS can handle when showing on top of other files. As quitting Google Drive resolved this issue, this would be the reason why you weren't seeing them before.

Currently, there isn't an option to increase the number of icons Mac OS allows on top of files. However, you can try contacting Apple for further assistance on this matter.

I don't understand. Google Drive and Dropbox are pointing to completely separate folders. And I have several other Macs where they are running together with no issue at all.
