Trying to up date a Somoma 14.3.1 to new file provider, but dropbox asks for MacOs permission

Trying to update a Sonoma 14.3.1 to the new file provider, but Dropbox asks for MacOs permissions to Share.

But the checkbox in preferences for Dropbox is already checked.

Then when I click on an "allow" (or "tillåt") button in a Dropbox window, Dropbox closes down and asks me to log in again.

After login, Dropbox starts to register and synch all files and I'm back where I started.

Any ideas?

Hey @anderswt, let's see what we can find on this!

As a first step, it might sound trivial but have you tried restarting your device?

You also mentioned initially that Dropbox asks for MacOS permissions to share, would you be able to send me a screenshot of that?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

This is in Swedish, and here is an approx translation.
Klar = OK

Delning = Sharing

Tillägg = Addons?!

As you can see the Dropbox::Sharing is set., even before the installation starts.
Then there is a Dropbox window coming up temporary with a button in the bottom left corner saying "Allow". After 10s or so it disapears and Dropbox closes down and asks me to log in again.

Hey @anderswt, sorry to jump in here.

Did you have the app installed and just tried to update it after clicking on the prompt that shows up on the app, or did you just install the app on this device?

Also, while the app runs for a bit after signing it, are you able to see the version of the app, when hovering over your Dropbox icon?

Hi Hannah!

I have had Dropbox for a while on this device, a MacBook Pro.

The dropbox version is v192.4.4605.

The loops starts here: I get a message from the Dropbox application, that my DropBox for MacOs can be updated for the latest version of macOs File Provider. So I clicked on that. Doesnt matter if start the update from the SyncHistory list or through the Preference/Synch tab.

Then there are 2 Dropbox windows shown and after clicking "börja" (continue) in the last window  Dropbox runs a bit but no version number is shown. Estimated time is said to be 4 h.

Then this windows is closed. And the MacOs permission window is opened together with a new Dropbox window with one button "Välj" (allow?).

If I dont do anything the Dropbox window is closed and a new Dropbox window is opened and Im asked to log in again. The MacOS permission windows stays open.

And the loop starts again.

Btw I checked the MacOS File and Folder permissions. Dropbox has full access to the disk. /A

Thanks for the additional info here, @anderswt.

Can we send you an email, so that we can take a closer look into this internally?
