I'm curious - what prompted you to download Dropbox on Desktop? What is the reason for working on desktop versus going to Dropbox on web? Do you use both? Also for those that use Web - for what reason do you not have Dropbox installed on your desktop? Would love to hear everyone's input on this!
What does your plan tab report, Leta?
Also, do you see any files in your backup page here?

I could drag files in and out and work on them.
I didn't have to go "on-line" or see them in a different arrangement.
It was very simple.
I'm quitting dropbox because it's become too complicated. This is the first message I've gotten which showed me a response and where to reply.
Thanks for your reply, @lilyplants3, and thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.
Just to clarify, when you enable the backup feature, you can indeed see your backups in this page.
If you click on the "manage backups" option on that page, or if you follow the steps in this article, you can disable the backup feature.
During that process, you can choose the option to "Keep content in folders on this Mac", to remove them from Dropbox, which should also help with any space issues you may have.
I hope this helps.

Nothing at all yet. I have jut downloaded it as a free version because I dont need a lot of room and my Excel files wont opn in Excedl as I created them but in some god awful packet called excel for the web or google sheets. Where is plain excel, why have you hidden it, why **bleep** things up, why piss us all off?
Hey there @Grahame3, could you clarify if you're using the website to do this, the mobile app or the desktop app perhaps on your computer?

Hi Walter I mostly use it on my desktop, plus occasionally on my i pad. It did work recently- I could alter something on my desktop and seconds later the i pad version was up to date as well. I dont know whats changed or how.
I didn't know there was a choice, so using Excel on my PC seemed to me the only way to go.
And on which platform you're having the issue now @Grahame31?

I don’t understand the question. The only platforms I use are at railway stations.
Sorry if my previous reply wasn't clear, I meant, the problem you've described, is it affecting you when using your desktop device or the mobile device, namely the iPad?
Or are you only using a web browser to access and work on your files?
