error message re: number of devices

I am using DropBox on three devices -- an iPhone, an iPad, and my desktop computer. We are allowed 3 devices with a basic membership. But, every time I try to use Dropbox on my iPad, I get an error message that I have too many devices connected.  In fact, the screen shows only three devices! -- while at the same time telling me that I have to remove one.

Hi —

Someone else I talked to suggested that I go into my account settings to see if Dropbox was still holding on to an old device that I no longer have. That was exactly the case. I deleted the old iPad I have not had for over two years and now am no longer getting the error message. But, if the problem pops up again, I will be back! Thanks for responding.

Hey @BrooklynGirl, sorry to hear about this.

Can you let us know how many devices you can see linked to your account on this page?

A screenshot of the exact error you're getting would be much appreciated too.

Thanks!
