iOS Mobile app only shows first 5000 photos on Photos tab

iOS Mobile app only shows first 5000 photos on Photos tab

The Dropbox iOS app used to show all my photos (over 100,000) but now only shows the most recent 5000. The files show when I go through the Files tab but not the Photos. Anyone else run into this issue?

Hey @kummzy, thanks for joining our Community.

Are you seeing this only in the Photos tab?

What if you go through your camera uploads folder, are you able to see all your photos there?

And are you getting any error messages?

Keep me posted.

Issue is in the Photos tab, the photos arent in the Camera Uploads folder as these arent camera uploads. They are synched with my desktop dropbox folder.

No error messages at all. One day it was showing all my photos, and suddenly just showing the first 5000. I know it cant be a coincidence that its stopped at exactly 5000 photos!

Thanks for the update here.

Hmm, can you open the Dropbox app, tap on 'account', then on the gear icon, then on 'clear cache' and then restart the app, to see if that helps?

I ended up deleting and reinstalling the app and that resolved the issue, so I didnt get a chance to try your suggestion. However that was a real pain as now all my offline photos need to re-synch again. The Photo tab is pretty buggy and slow to load, as it seems to have to reload thumbnails all the time unlike Google Photos and the iOS Photo app.

Identical issue, iOS photo tab only displays photos before 2023; camera uploads is perfectly synced.

Seems that DB has steadily growing “bugs”, this specific situation was never an issue before.

Hi @aespaterson

Are you able to see all of your photos normally if you visit https://www.dropbox.com/photos via your web browser on a computer?
