Hi Josh,

Thanks for the report.  We're looking into this.  We need to remove your post though since it has some personally identifiable information.

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

No problem: I figured you might do something like that. I just didn't want to change the log file.

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

Should I install the old stable version, and/or uninstall this version first.

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

And a slightly disappointing Friday (here in Western Australia!) Although dropbox is syncing fine, the major linux bugs have still got no attention. :-( 290 days without fixing major, customer-facing bugs.

What makes it disappointing is knowing that the fixes are both not that hard! Come on Dropbox... you can do the right thing! Let's have a "Happy Friday" next week! slightly smiling face

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

Hi Josh,

You can downgrade the 3.10 build (without uninstalling), but can you save your logs before you do so?  We'll reach out to try and take a look at them.  They should be in:

%APPDATA%\Dropbox\logs

and

\Documents and Settings\{your username}\Local Settings\Dropbox\logs

Thanks!

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

Can you clarify what "Changes to how the client runs before a user signs in" means? Is this a change to before the user signs in to Dropbox? Or before the user signs in to the operating system?

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

I tried downgrading but it did not work. Below is the user folder dropbox runs from.

S:\username\Profile\Application Data\Dropbox\bin

After trying to install 3.10.12 I have this folder (which I'm not sure Dropbox should be in)

C:\Program Files\Dropbox\Client

I just might have to uninstall everything and start from scratch. But its too late so I wait to hear from you tomorrow.

Update: I got the version that install itself in [the below directory] to uninstall.

C:\Program Files\Dropbox\Client

I broke dropbox

At startup and writes an error.

Re: Release Candidate 3.12.2

Can you explain this new feature please: "Changes to how the client runs before a user signs in"?
