Dropbox files/folders are not searchable in spotlight on new MacBook Pro with M1 chip - Monterey OS 12.0.1. Have re-indexed spotlight. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox and rebooted. Have made sure Dropbox has full access in Security and Privacy. Help please?

@Walterthanks for the quick reply. The files are findable (and openable) in the Finder if I search "This Mac" but not if I restrict the search to "User(i.e. me)" or  "Dropbox" folders

The files are local and Dropbox is fully synced. I can send you a screen shot if there is some mechanism for that.

I am having this same problem.  Brand new MacBook with a very large hard drive to hold my entire dropbox file, so not online only. It's like Spotlight didn't index any of my dropbox files.  I use Dropbox box literally every 5 minutes so I really need this fixed.  Help!

Hey @izaguirres, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you let us know the app's status as shown in your menu bar? Is it 'up to date' or still syncing?

Did you install the desktop app with admin privileges in the first place?

Any additional information or screenshots would be much appreciated.

So it says it's up to date and I am the admin.  I use dropbox like a file cabinet for my clients.  Each client has a folder.  I can navigate to the folder  but it takes forever because i have to scroll through finding it.  In the past, when I would search, the client's folder would show up in the search results and now it's not.

Hi @izaguirres, you should've received an email from the support agent with a ticket number in the email subject. If it's not in your inbox, try checking your junk or spam folder.

Please could you provide that number in order for us to investigate further.

Here are three screen shots looking for two new docs I saved in Dropbox. Spotlight finds them in "This Mac" but not in "Users" nor in "Dropbox"

I should add - I am only having this problem on my brand new iMac with the Apple M1 chip (in my university office), and not on my  Intel iMac at home. Same Dropbox. So maybe something to do with M1 chip?
