I can not turn the online only files to Available off line! It´s crazy. Everything goes online all the time. I cannot take control on my Dropbox.

Hey @celina e., sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you please let us know the desktop app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar/system tray?

Also, have you made sure you have the hard drive space that's needed to mark your files as available offline?

Any additional information is more than welcome!

Hi Walter! The status is syncing and yes I have a lot of space in the hard drive

Hey @celina e., sorry to jump in here.

Does the sync status appear as just "Syncing"? No number of files syncing, or a time frame?

What is your computer's OS and version, please?

And which version of the Dropbox app do you have installed? You'll see this by hovering over the Dropbox icon as well.

The app´s status is now in Syncing 16 files (and it´s been syncing 16 files all day long).  Last time when you asked wast just syncing.

Version is v168.4.4802

I have this problem since I updated to Ventura.

Yes I have plenty hard drive space.

When somebody adds a file to my offline folders, those files are always online, if I add them I can have them offline.

Hi @celina e., I hope you’re doing well.

If you click on the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar, do you see a “Sync history” tab at the top part of the pop-up window?

If yes, please click there to check which files are still syncing on your desktop app.

Hey Nancy! Those 16 files are syncing since yesterday but it doesn´t say which files are. In the pop up window it just says 30 minutes, 1 hour, until tomorrow... Even though I restarted the computer several times.

Now one folder went offline (after serveral days), but still the files that other users are uploading to the folder, are only online. If that folder is offline, the new files have to turn offline also, but they don´t. The only way to turn them offline is to open them, one by one. I have a lot of videos and other files. It is really weird.

Hey @celina e., I hope you had a great weekend!

With the Dropbox for macOS app, any new files added to your Dropbox folder, will sync as online-only by default, so to make them available offline, you'll need to do it manually.

If you're doing so and the files are still not syncing, you can also try the troubleshooting info here, specifically, giving Dropbox full disk access.

Before the update to Ventura, Dropbox worked ok and didn´t go online by default and I did not have to put them offline manualy. Is there a Dropbox update that takes this matter as a consideration? It´s weird, because the good thing about Dropbox is having files available, and in this way you dont have them complety available, is almost the same that somebody sends me a wetransfer instead. I want to get away from my computer knowing that when I come back I will have the files that a coworker is uploading, without me clicking each file to come offline in order to watch one of the 100 videos I have to watch. It is getting a little useless in this way.

I understand where you're coming from, Celina.

This is one of the expected changes after the update to the new Dropbox for macOS app.

You can see more expected changes in this article from our help center.

I will, however, pass your feedback and comments along to our team about this.

If you need anything else, just give us a shout!
