Files larger than around 500kb will be "stuck" and forever waiting to sync

Hi Technical support,

Recently my Dropbox is unable to synchronize for files greater than 500kb. It is very strange. Everything was ok for many months. This week, I started to notice that those files which are greater than around 500kb in the local folder will be "stuck" and forever waiting to be synchronized.

Those files which are less than 500kb gets uploaded almost immediately. My account's storage still have at least 2 GB available. Have tried to restart PC and my internet connection speed was normal.

Please help! Thank you!

By the way, my Dropbox version is 174.4.5852. My OS is Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (version 10.0.19044 Build 19044). Thanks.

Hey @NPN, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Is it possible that the bandwidth used for your uploads is limited?

You can check this from the Dropbox preferences.

Let me know what you find!

Hi,

I managed to resolve the issue by following the below instructions from one of the postings. Let me monitor for a few days whether the issue will come back. I actually have to click "Fix permissions" to resolve it. Do you have any explanations why did it happen? So that I can try to prevent it from happening again.

"see if that resolves the "Syncing" status for you:

Click the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar.
Click the profile pic/initials icon in the top right of the window.
Choose "Preferences..."
Go to the "Account" tab.
While holding the Alt+H keys (Windows/Linux) or Option/Alt key (Mac), click "Fix Hardlinks"."
If this doesn't resolve the issue, please follow the steps again and instead click "Fix permissions"."
