Hello! It is very clear how to change the owner of a folder in regular Dropbox, but within Paper I do not see the same option when I hit "share". I'd like to transfer ownership of a folder I've created within Paper. Not just transfer ownership of an individual document within Paper. I have already invited people to the folder. Thank you.
Hey folks ( @farra & @Tim42c) - hope all's well at your end!
I just wanted to follow up on this feature request and let you know that your wish has been granted!
Transferring ownership of a Paper doc is now live for all types of accounts! This is how:
An owner of a Paper doc can transfer ownership by pressing the "Invite" button first, clicking on the dropdown next to the new owner and then click on the "Make owner" option.
Happy Weekend guys and thanks for using Paper!

Hey @Tim42c,
Ed again here. It looks like this is only available if you're signed in from a Business account. I tried to change ownership in a doc in my personal account and it's not available.
Hope it sheds some light.

Hey @farra - thanks for using Paper!
As this is not currently an option within Paper, I added your comments to our list of feature requests. Thank you for this feedback and helping us improve Paper!
Bear in mind that Paper folders allow you to collect multiple documents, and make it easy to share and collaborate on these docs with your team. These can be accessible and discoverable to your whole team through search, or they can be private to you and the people you invite to collaborate in. Here are some additional notes:
- A doc cannot be added to more than one folder.
- If you're on a Dropbox Business team or a free team, the folder will be accessible to everyone in your team by default. If you set the folder to invite-only, the folder will be available only to people that you invite.
Finally, I wanted to add that while there is no direct way to do this, you could try sharing the Paper folder in question with the person you'd like to assign as owner and have them reproduce the docs within this folder on their account's Paper section and share them from their end anew. This way, they will be then able to share it with whomever they wish (you can archive the doc after this process as well) -I know it's not much of a solution rather than a mere walk-around but I truly hope this helps.
If there's anything else I can help with from my end, please do let me know. Thank you and have a great July ahead!

I tried to transfer ownership of a Dropbox Files Folder and Paper Folder. Files took 10 seconds.
Paper, as we've come to learn from this thread, and a similar thread from one year ago, is not an option.
I'm shocked and cannot imagine how changing Paper folder owners would not be considered a basic necessity. Two years worth of shared documents need to be copy/pasted into new documents so that I may leave the organization? Seriously?
I understand Tim ( @Tim42c ) - this is indeed a great feature that could help many users in the same situation as you at the moment.
As mentioned, I have already passed your comments along to the Paper's dev team for consideration. Another thing I'd like to add here is that you can always ask for a feature or share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions in this section Tim - this way other users will be able to find it and upvote it!
Hope this helps a tiny bit and let me know if there's anything else I can do from my end to assist with this. Have a great day ahead and thanks again for your feedback!

Thanks for the update, @Walter. We didn't expect it, so just a few days ago we completed the manual copy/paste. Oh well, better next time, right?
I just tried to use the feature... but still only have the option on Paper docs to grant Edit or Comment, not Ownership. I logged out and in. Same.
Are you certain it is rolled out to everyone? Thx!
Can you please let me know if you tried this on another browser @Tim42c? Does this persist on other browsers or on an incognito window ( for Chrome) or private browsing mode (for Mozilla Firefox and Safari)? While we're at it, have you tried clearing your browser's cache as well?
I am attaching a screenshot of the options I get on Paper docs I already own to help.

I had tried with Safari and Chrome. For grins, I pulled up Firefox Nightly -- fresh and new, no cache. As you can see below, when inviting someone to a brand new Paper doc, I only have "can edit" and "can comment". (note lower case SIC)
After sharing it, I tried to modify... edit, comment, and now "Remove" - but no options to set the owner:
Aside - I noticed capitalization changed from the Invite to the editing screen. Smells like a bug.

Thanks for the elaborate response @Tim42c - most appreciated.
As I'd like to have a more in depth look into this, I went ahead and sent you an email to the email address you use for your profile here. Check your inbox for my email and get back to me there so we can work on this together with all of my tools available.
Thanks!

Thx, Walter. I'll reply via the support ticket and either post a summary here, or perhaps remove my follow up posts since they won't be relevant after the feature is obviously available to everyone. 🙂
If you are reading this, and and do not see the Make Owner option for a Paper Doc, please give this post a "Like" to follow.
