Hi everyone,

I am using both Mac and Windows and the dropbox is more or less my link or server between the two.

I have recently upgraded my Mac to Ventura 13.5. The Windows is super new running with Windows 11 pro.

I am using software, that creates lots of datafiles that are super small - but in total not very big. So lets say: 10k files, but in total 13 MB.

When ever the dropbox should upload them from my Mac, it takes ages to do so.

The download on my Windows machine though is very quick.

Both have great internet connection via cable, so there is no reason for the difference.

Also: A while now, the dropbox icons do not show properly anymore. Rightclicking on files wouldn't give me any options (on the Mac).

it would be great if you could help me out!

Best

N

Hi @nwimages, welcome to our Community!

Based on your description about the devices, and how the app works on both of them, it sounds we might need to check a few things on the MacOS device.

Can you check the syncing status, and version of the app that you're using there? Also, it sounds like you're creating these datafiles using your Mac, am I right on this?

When did this behavior start happening? Have you also restarted your device?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi,

the problem just got worse and worse.

I dedeted files from my Mac - and instead of deleting them, he is constantly reloading them as "reanamed" in the same folder. it seems like the files are exponentially growing - by now he is synchronizing like 200t files at once and completely stopping everything else.

How is this possible? I deleted the files from the machine, and he is ignoring that, rewriting them!

I have to work with this system and I am completely blocked by dropbox right now.

I need a fast solution for this. thank you

Just to keep you updated. Now I decided to let him recreate all these files in this weird "renamed" folder that's been created by dropbox itself.

As a consequence, the Mac now sais everything in dropbox is up to date. But: Now the windows machine simply stopped updating the folder. It is giving me a "syncing 157855 files" report with 27 mb total, and just doesn't continue doing anything.

No report of sync problems but also no progress. The folder is showing the wrong content and not synching at all.

I am in a middle of a deadline and quite surprised about this whole mess I have to say.

Hi @nwimages, can you send me a screenshot of the app's version, and syncing status as it shows on your Windows device?

If you visit your account online, is everything updated according to your Mac's Dropbox folder?
