Hi,
I'm currently using dropbox Professional and I'd like to provide a folder for external creatives that send me their work. Since the external creatives differe from project to project, I can't guarantee each has a dropbox account.
I prepared a folder called "Incoming" for each project, containing subfolders for graphics, audio, video and text files. Now I want to send a link to the parent folder "Incoming" to all the people per project so everyopne involved can upload their files and in turn access files from the other creatives if need be.
Those files can be any size up to several gigabytes when we speak about video file sizes.
What would be the best way for me to go ahead with this?
Hi @pannonica, you can use the file request link for multiple files, and for uploading entire folders. You can use the same link multiple times as well.
It isn't possible to overwrite files using a file request, so if there is a revision to a file needed, they submit the file again, and it'll have a slightly different name on it, and a more recent creation date.

Can every member within my project, that has received the File Request Link, access and download all the files and subfolders contained in the File Request link that other members (or myself) uploaded to the File Request folder?

No. Sorry, I missed that requirement in your original post. You could create a Shared Link to the folder and share that with everyone. They would use the file request link to upload, and the Shared Link to view/download. The only other option would be to use a Shared Folder but that would require each member to have their own Dropbox account with enough storage available to hold everything uploaded to the folder.
This could work, but can they use the File Request Link for more than one file? Can they use it for uploading a folder?
What happens if they need to upload a revision of a file they uploaded before? Will they be able to replace the file (or folder) they've uploaded already by using the File Request Link I've sent them before?

@jay
How does it look on my end when people use the same file request link for files revision_1.file, then the next day file revision_2.file etc?
They cannot replace what has been uploaded.
It will create a new set of files for you. You will need to manually work out what to keep and what not to keep as well as renaming how you want - Dropbox applies a naming convention to files uploaded via Requests which you cannot alter.
