Ipad version of word not syncing with Dropbox

Hi,

I've been syncing Microsoft Word files between my Macbook and Ipad through Dropbox with absolutely no problem. 

 

Right now I noticed that while Word on my Ipad timestamps the time I changed a file on my Macbook, it opens up an older version of the file for no reason.

 

I've tried logging in and out of Dropbox, and logging in and out of Word on my Ipad and nothing seems to work.

 

Any thoughts? Is the issue with Word itself?

Hey peeps, thanks for all your reports and sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with this.

I just wanted to check back and ask if you're still getting the same behavior after trying out the workaround proposed by @Motte above. 

If you haven't already, give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

Yes, turning off auto save within the word app for a document and then manually saving changes when exiting seems to fix the problem.  Wish that wasn’t necessary though.

I haven't reversed the workaround yet. However, since I keep getting the message, that another version exists, I suspect that nothing has gotten any better.

Same as Gcorvin, manual save works in a clunky way but wish auto save would work. Please fix Dropbox

Could I also request if a solution has been found that all participants in this forum be able to read it? I know many of us have been having this issue for some time. While eliminating auto save works it would still be ideal if we could use the function without having to turn it off. Thanks.
