Need help to sync/ backup the working folder of an app LinkedHelper2

Need help to sync/ backup the working folder of an app LinkedHelper2

Hello!

Currently experiencing issues to sync a working folder of LinkedHelper2 on Mac, since an error comes up: “Couldn't upload. Give Dropbox permission to access this file.” After I click on “Go to file”, I can setup nothing besides to see the file, or “How to fix” - then an article opens: https://help.dropbox.com/sync/files-not-syncing#permission

This articles gives no clue what the problem is.

Screenshot 2023-05-31 at 17.36.11.pngScreenshot 2023-05-31 at 17.36.31.png

Here is info about which folders of the app LinkedHelper2 has to be synced:

“Data is stored here: %AppData%\linked-helper\Partitions\linked-helper-launcher

There you will find folders named "main". Example: linked-helper-account-143682-main
Where number is the number of your LI instance. If you have several instances, then there will be several such folders
Inside them, there is a file LH.DB - this is a database. Enough to back it up.”

Could you please help me with it?

Thanks in advance!

Best,
T

Hi @crretee, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Just for clarification, you're using a Mac, but the information you've provided seems to refer to a Windows installation (namely the %AppData% location), could you explain this for me? Are you using a virtual machine?

How exactly are you adding this location into the Dropbox folder?

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Hi Jay,

Thanks for your question.

True, I work on a Windows Server 2022, sorry - my mistake. But the screenshot with an error is coming from Windows too.

I add the location by going to Backup - then choose only this one folder, then get it synced via Dropbox Backup beta

Any ideas?

Best,

T

The Backup feature should only allow you to backup the Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders, or external drives.

Where exactly do the folders with the error reside on your machine?

Here is the folder with files to be backuped:

AppData\linked-helper\Partitions\linked-helper-launcher

Okay, the backup feature shouldn't be able to access that location at all, only the Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders.

Could you show me exactly how you selected this folder when backing up?
