Beginning a few days ago every time i delete more than 99 files I get a message suggesting I use selective sync instead of delete and I need to click a button to Delete:
All 100 items will be deleted from your Dropbox account and any other devices you've connected to Dropbox.
If you just want to remove them from this computer, learn how to unsync them instead.
Cancel Delete
I know about selective sync (and use it) - I don't need to be reminded about it every time i delete files.
Responding to a dialog is a major annoyance but even worse is the deletions aren't syncing to my other computers or online.

Thanks! I do have the beta - will get rid of it next. (I had no idea I had the option turned on.)
I hope the warning does not make it into the released versions - it is annoying.

My girlfriend has just recently been getting these pop-up messages when deleting a file from her Dropbox and it's just odd. Not sure why it started and I'm not exactly sure what's been changed since we're already using "selective sync."
This IS a shared folder amongst her computers so yeah, she DOES want it deleted everywhere - I'm just leery of checking a box and boning myself down the road. lol

I use the dropbox for years .. never gave a problem If you just want to remove it from the computer, cancel and use the "Selective Synchronization" button and the "Installed on windows 7 and use, now I went" file does not delete .. there you can return the dough in the original place, undo the change I had made, that was to just change the mass of the place dropbox, and even then the problem still continues !! you can no longer delete files, because, how to fix? thanks

This new and very annoying message causes confusion because it says, "remove everywhere." In fact, as far as I can tell, it does not "remove everywhere." If anything, it removes all copies of this file from the Dropbox universe, but I can't confirm that. I certainly hope that it isn't searching my hard drive and deleting copies or other versions of the files. I've run a test or two, and thankfully, it seems that it does not do what it says it will do. But I'm not positive. Can anyone confirm that the new message is, in fact, misleading or even outright false? When I delete from Dropbox, I want to delete from that one Dropbox. Nothing else. And I don't want to have to do any extra clicks or see any messages threatening to do something that Dropbox doesn't do.
@Lusil wrote:Hi there @amandaamaral!From what I understand, you’re referring to the pop up window which was added with the new update (51.4.66). It checks if you want to delete the file or folder in question from your device (recommends to use selective sync) or from your Dropbox account. If you want to delete it from your Dropbox account, just go ahead and select “Delete everywhere”.If you’re still having trouble with it, could you please give me a bit more info on what you’re seeing?Cheers!

It's referring to your Dropbox account and all linked devices. If you have multiple computers linked to your Dropbox account, the file will be removed from all of them, i.e. "everywhere."
