Hi.
I wanted to add a shared folder, but received a message telling me I don't have enough free space to do so.
This surprised me because the folder has a size of 2 GB and I have 2 GB of free space - there is nothing else in my account that could take up any space.
My colleagues who were invited to add the same folder & have the 2 GB Basic Dropbox Account just like me had no problems.
How can I fix my problem?
I have the problem solved.
The users I had invited into My Dropbox were not using the access link. They opened their Dropbox account and then tried to access the shared files. Once I realized that, I told them to use the link I provided, without opening their Dropbox. Problem solved and all can access the working files. Thank you Mark for trying to help.
I've been sent files via a shared folder but I cannot access that page. I cannot get beyond the page that tells me to upgrade my plan. Even though I am only using
It says:

If you're seeing that message while trying to join a shared folder, it means the folder is larger than the amount of available space in your account. You would need to upgrade your account in order to have enough space available to add the folder.
Thanks for that response Rich. I'm surprised to hear that because the other day I was able to DL 26GB even though I don't have a paid account.

If you're sent a view-only shared link you can download the content without even needing an account, but if you're invited to join a shared folder, you need an account and you need to have enough available space to hold the share. The same would apply for a shared link if you wanted to save the content to your account, rather than just download it to your computer.
Ah, gotcha! Thanks for explaining. I did get sent a link the first time...
